About The Mustangs

The American wild horse, while noble in its
wildness, is first a survivor. Rasty and stubborn,
its feral and often savage disposition is matched
by a wiry and rough appearance. The romantic
perception of the mustang as the embodiment
of freedom - of wildness itself - was a closely
held tenet of the Old West and it still persists
today. Wild horses have become icons of a con-
temorary longing, a yearning for freedom. Hated
by the rancher, loved by those who fear its dis-
appearnace from the western ranges, the
American mustang has inspired passionate
efforts to preserve the few remaining wild herds.
